Role Overview
Site Engineers (Civil) are the technical backbone of construction sites. You’ll handle day-to-day execution, quality checks, material management, and coordination between design and field teams. This is a stepping-stone role for engineers who want to build deep project execution experience before moving into supervisory or project management roles. Metro places site engineers at infrastructure, industrial, and commercial construction projects across India.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute civil construction activities as per approved drawings and specifications
- Conduct quality checks on formwork, reinforcement, concreting, and curing
- Take levels, set out dimensions, and verify alignment using survey instruments
- Coordinate material delivery (cement, steel, aggregates) and manage site inventory
- Prepare daily work records, labour deployment reports, and material consumption statements
- Liaise with design team for drawing clarifications and RFI resolution
- Ensure safety compliance at the work front
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- 2–7 years of site experience at construction or infrastructure projects
- Ability to read and interpret structural and civil engineering drawings
- Basic proficiency with survey instruments (auto level, total station)
- Knowledge of IS codes for concrete, reinforcement, and earthwork
- Willingness to work at remote project sites across India
