Shutdown & Turnaround

Shutdown Supervisor

8–15 years in heavy industry shutdowns Pan-India Evergreen

Role Overview

The Shutdown Supervisor is the on-ground leader responsible for coordinating and executing all mechanical, piping, and structural activities during plant shutdowns and turnarounds. You’ll manage crews of 20–100+ tradespeople across refinery, petrochemical, and process plant sites, ensuring every task is completed safely, on-spec, and on-schedule. This role demands someone who thrives under pressure — shutdown timelines are measured in hours, not days, and every delay has a direct cost impact. You’ll work closely with the client’s project and maintenance teams, coordinating daily task allocations, safety permits, and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mechanical, piping, and structural crews during planned shutdowns and turnarounds
  • Coordinate daily task allocation with client project and maintenance teams
  • Ensure all work is executed as per approved procedures, drawings, and specifications
  • Monitor progress against shutdown schedule and escalate delays immediately
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce site safety standards (PTW, JSA, LOTO)
  • Manage material and equipment availability for assigned work fronts
  • Prepare daily progress reports with manpower deployment and completion status
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and NDT teams for inspection hold points

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or equivalent
  • 8–15 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industry shutdowns
  • Proven track record of leading crews of 20–100+ personnel
  • Familiarity with hot and cold work permits, confined space entry, and LOTO procedures
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, and client-specific standards
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and GA drawings
