Role Overview
The Rigging & Lifting Supervisor oversees all heavy lifting and rigging operations during shutdowns and construction projects. You’re responsible for lift planning, sling selection, crane coordination, and ensuring every lift is executed safely — because a dropped load in a live plant is a catastrophic event. This role requires deep knowledge of rigging hardware, load calculations, crane charts, and regulatory requirements. Metro deploys rigging supervisors to projects where precision lifting is mission-critical.

- Prepare lift plans with load calculations, crane selection, sling configurations, and rigging hardware
- Conduct pre-lift meetings (toolbox talks) and obtain lifting permits
- Select and inspect rigging hardware (slings, shackles, spreader bars, chain blocks)
- Coordinate with crane operators, banksmen, and trade crews during lifts
- Ensure compliance with IS 3177 and client lifting procedures
- Maintain lifting equipment inspection records and colour-coding compliance
