Quantity Surveyor

3–10 years Pan-India Evergreen

Role Overview

Quantity Surveyors measure, value, and manage the cost of construction work. You’ll prepare bill of quantities, verify contractor measurements, process running bills, and track project costs against budgets. In EPC projects, the QS is the financial gatekeeper — ensuring every rupee spent is accounted for, every measurement is verified, and every variation is documented. Metro deploys QS professionals to projects where clients need independent quantity verification and cost control support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review bill of quantities (BOQ) for civil, mechanical, and piping works
  • Verify contractor measurements and process running account bills
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and highlight overruns
  • Prepare variation orders and claims documentation with supporting measurements
  • Conduct joint measurements with contractors and client representatives
  • Maintain cost databases and rate analyses for ongoing and future projects
  • Support tender evaluation and provide cost estimates for new work packages

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–10 years of quantity surveying experience at construction or EPC project sites
  • Proficiency in measurement standards (IS 1200) and rate analysis
  • Experience with billing software and MS Excel for cost tracking
  • Knowledge of contract types (lump sum, unit rate, cost-plus) and their commercial implications
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
