Role Overview
Planning Engineers build and maintain project schedules, track progress, forecast completion, and identify risks before they derail the timeline. You’re the early warning system for the project — when a critical path activity slips, you flag it before it becomes a crisis. This role requires both technical knowledge of construction activities and strong analytical skills to work with schedule data, earned value metrics, and resource histograms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules in Primavera P6
- Build WBS, activity sequences, durations, and resource loading
- Track progress and update schedules with actual completion data weekly
- Perform critical path analysis and schedule risk assessment
- Prepare S-curves, histograms, and earned value reports
- Identify schedule slippages and recommend recovery measures
- Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports for project leadership
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- B.E./B.Tech in any engineering discipline
- 3–10 years of planning experience at EPC or construction project sites
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory)
- Experience with earned value management (EVM) and schedule analysis
- Knowledge of construction activity sequences across mechanical, civil, and piping disciplines
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
