Maintenance Engineer — Mechanical

3–10 years Pan-India Evergreen

Role Overview

Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical) are responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of rotating and static equipment in operating plants. You’ll handle preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown troubleshooting, and equipment reliability improvement. Unlike shutdown roles that are short-term and intense, O&M positions are long-duration deployments — 6 months to 2+ years — giving you stability and deep familiarity with the plant. • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment to service
  • Maintain equipment history records and update the CMMS (SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent)
  • Analyse failure patterns and recommend reliability improvement measures
  • Coordinate with operations team for equipment isolation and work permit procedures
  • Supervise contract maintenance crews during routine and planned maintenance
  • Ensure spare parts availability and manage maintenance material requisitions

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3–10 years of maintenance experience in a continuous process plant (refinery, power, cement, chemicals)
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, or similar)
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, alignment, and condition monitoring basics
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and OEM maintenance standards
