Maintenance Engineer — Electrical

3–10 years Pan-India Evergreen

Role Overview

Electrical Maintenance Engineers keep the power systems running in industrial plants — HT/LT switchgear, transformers, motors, drives, and distribution systems. You’ll handle preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and emergency breakdowns. Electrical failures in a continuous process plant don’t just cause production loss — they create safety hazards. This role demands strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems and a disciplined approach to electrical safety and isolation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance on HT/LT switchgear, transformers, motors, and VFDs
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore systems to service with minimal downtime
  • Perform insulation resistance testing, contact resistance measurement, and relay testing
  • Maintain electrical single line diagrams and equipment health records
  • Coordinate with operations for electrical isolation and energisation procedures
  • Supervise contract electricians during maintenance and shutdown activities
  • Ensure compliance with IE Rules and client electrical safety standards

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • 3–10 years of electrical maintenance experience in a process plant or power plant
  • Knowledge of HT/LT switchgear, protection relays, transformers, and motor control centres
  • Experience with preventive maintenance tools (megger, contact resistance meter, thermal camera)
  • Familiarity with Indian Electricity Rules and hazardous area classification
  • Valid electrical competency certificate (Supervisor/license) preferred
