Role Overview
DCS/PLC Operators monitor and control industrial processes from the control room using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). You’re the person watching every temperature, pressure, level, and flow reading across the plant — and taking corrective action when something drifts. This role requires a calm temperament, strong process knowledge, and the ability to make decisions quickly during abnormal situations. Metro deploys control room operators to process plants that need experienced hands during commissioning, startup, or to augment existing operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control plant process parameters through DCS/PLC systems
- Execute startup, shutdown, and normal operating procedures from the control room
- Respond to alarms, identify abnormal conditions, and take corrective actions
- Coordinate with field operators for manual operations and equipment checks
- Maintain control room logs and shift handover documentation
- Participate in emergency response drills and safety procedures
- Support commissioning and loop checking activities for new DCS/PLC installations
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering
