Role Overview
QA/QC Engineers ensure every piece of work — welding, fabrication, erection, piping, civil — meets the required quality standards before it’s accepted. You’ll develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), conduct in-process inspections, manage NCR processes, and coordinate with third-party inspection agencies. Quality in heavy industry isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s a regulatory and safety requirement. Metro deploys QA/QC engineers to projects where clients need independent quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all disciplines
- Conduct in-process and final inspections for welding, fabrication, erection, and painting
- Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
- Review material test certificates, welding procedure qualifications, and welder qualifications
- Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies (TPI) for witness and hold point inspections
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation packages for project handover
- Conduct internal quality audits and participate in client quality reviews
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or relevant engineering discipline
- 3–10 years of QA/QC experience at EPC or industrial project sites
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, and API quality standards
- Experience with ITP development, NCR management, and document control
- Familiarity with welding inspection basics (visual inspection, WPS/PQR review)
- Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001) preferred
